Xen 4.1.1 and earlier allows local guest OS kernels with control of a PCI[E] device to cause a denial of service (CPU consumption and host hang) via many crafted DMA requests that are denied by the IOMMU, which triggers a livelock.
The weakness was disclosed 12/13/2012 (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at xenbits.xen.org. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2011-3131. The exploitation appears to be easy. Attacking locally is a requirement. The requirement for exploitation is a single authentication. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not publicly available.
