A vulnerability has been found in Opera Web Browser up to 12.11 (Web Browser) and classified as critical. This vulnerability affects an unknown functionality of the component CSRF Protection. Opera before 12.13 does not send CORS preflight requests in all required cases, which allows remote attackers to bypass a CSRF protection mechanism via a crafted web site that triggers a CORS request.
The weakness was released 02/08/2013 by Arthur Gerkis with iSIGHT (Website). The advisory is available at opera.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2013-1639 since 02/08/2013. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available.
