The prepare_sdp_description function in ffserver.c in FFmpeg before 1.0.2 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) via vectors related to the rtp format.
The issue has been introduced in 09/28/2012. The weakness was released 12/24/2013 as confirmed git commit (GIT Repository). The advisory is available at git.videolan.org. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2012-6617 since 12/24/2013. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication.
