Integer signedness error in the dissector_cvs function in dissectors/ec_cvs.c in Ettercap 0.8.1 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) via a crafted password, which triggers a large memory allocation.

The weakness was released 12/19/2014 by Nick Sampanis (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at obrela.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2014-9381 since 12/11/2014. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation.
