Internet Explorer for Mac 5.2.3, Internet Explorer 6 on Windows XP, and possibly other versions, does not properly prevent a frame in one domain from injecting content into a frame that belongs to another domain, which facilitates web site spoofing and other attacks, aka the frame injection vulnerability.
The weakness was released 06/29/2004 by Mark Laurence, http-equiv and Gary McKay (Website). The advisory is shared for download at lists.netsys.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2004-0719 since 07/22/2004. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available.
