Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in admin/install.php in MantisBT before 1.2.19 and 1.3.x before 1.3.0-beta.2 allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the (1) admin_username or (2) admin_password parameter.
The weakness was released 01/26/2015 (Website). The advisory is shared at mantisbt.org. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2014-9571 since 01/07/2015. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Upgrading to version 1.2.18 eliminates this vulnerability.
