The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2015-0332 since 12/01/2014. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available.

The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 81877 (SuSE 11.3 Security Update : flash-player (SAT Patch Number 10458)), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. It is assigned to the family SuSE Local Security Checks. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 123399 (Adobe Flash Player Remote Code Execution Vulnerability (APSB15-05)).

Upgrading eliminates this vulnerability. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability. Furthermore it is possible to detect and prevent this kind of attack with TippingPoint and the filter 19633.

The vulnerability is also documented in the databases at X-Force (101532) and Tenable (81877). The entries 73998, 73999, 74000 and 74001 are pretty similar.
