Apple Xcode up to 6.4 IDE Xcode Server cryptographic issues

CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

A vulnerability has been found in Apple Xcode up to 6.4 (Programming Tool Software) and classified as critical. This vulnerability affects an unknown code of the component IDE Xcode Server. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a cryptographic issues vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-310. As an impact it is known to affect integrity. CVE summarizes:

OpenSSL before 0.9.8zc, 1.0.0 before 1.0.0o, and 1.0.1 before 1.0.1j does not properly enforce the no-ssl3 build option, which allows remote attackers to bypass intended access restrictions via an SSL 3.0 handshake, related to s23_clnt.c and s23_srvr.c.

The weakness was disclosed 09/16/2015 with Akamai Technologies as HT205217 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared for download at support.apple.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2014-3568 since 05/14/2014. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1600.

The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 81651 (Apache Tomcat 8.0.x < 8.0.15 Multiple Vulnerabilities (POODLE)), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. It is assigned to the family Web Servers. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 185091 (HP-UX Running OpenSSL Multiple Vulnerabilities (HPSBUX03162) (POODLE)).

Upgrading to version 7.0 eliminates this vulnerability. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability.

The vulnerability is also documented in the vulnerability database at Tenable (81651). The entries 67991, 67992, 68791 and 68906 are pretty similar.
