The jpeg2000_decode_tile function in libavcodec/jpeg2000dec.c in FFmpeg before 2.8.6 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (out-of-bounds array read access) via crafted JPEG 2000 data.
The weakness was released 02/03/2016 by Lucas Leong as confirmed git commit (GIT Repository). It is possible to read the advisory at git.videolan.org. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2016-2213 since 02/03/2016. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication.
