Stack-based buffer overflow in the isofs_real_readdir function in isofs.c in FuseISO 20070708 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (application crash) or possibly execute arbitrary code via a long pathname in an ISO file.

The weakness was released 03/30/2016 by Florian Weimer with Red Hat Product Security Team (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at debian.org. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2015-8837 since 03/30/2016. Attacking locally is a requirement. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation.
