Adobe Flash Player 21.0.0.197 and earlier allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (application crash) or possibly execute arbitrary code via unspecified vectors, as exploited in the wild in April 2016.

The bug was discovered 04/05/2016. The weakness was presented 04/05/2016 by Kafeine, Genwei Jiang and Clement Lecigne with FireEye, Inc. as APSA16-01 as confirmed security advisory (Website). The advisory is shared for download at helpx.adobe.com. The public release was coordinated in cooperation with the vendor. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2016-1019 since 12/22/2015. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Technical details are unknown but a private exploit is available. The current price for an exploit might be approx. USD $0-$5k (estimation calculated on 07/12/2022). It is expected to see the exploit prices for this product decreasing in the near future.

Upgrading to version 21.0.0.182 eliminates this vulnerability. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability. Furthermore it is possible to detect and prevent this kind of attack with TippingPoint and the filter 24253.
