A vulnerability has been found in Cacti up to 0.8.8f (Log Management Software) and classified as critical. This vulnerability affects the function host_new_graphs
of the file graphs_new.php of the component Save Action. The manipulation of the argument cg_g
with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-89. The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. SQL injection vulnerability in the host_new_graphs function in graphs_new.php in Cacti 0.8.8f and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary SQL commands via the cg_g parameter in a save action.
The weakness was released 04/11/2016 (Website). The advisory is available at seclists.org. This vulnerability was named CVE-2015-8604 since 12/16/2015. The attack can be initiated remotely. The requirement for exploitation is a single authentication. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit. This vulnerability is assigned to T1505 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.
