The weakness was disclosed 04/09/2013 as APSB13-10 as confirmed bulletin (Website). The advisory is shared for download at adobe.com. The public release has been coordinated in cooperation with the vendor. This vulnerability was named CVE-2013-1388 since 01/16/2013. The exploitation appears to be difficult. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available.

The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 65928 (Adobe ColdFusion Multiple Vulnerabilities (APSB13-10) (credentialed check)), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. It is assigned to the family Windows. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 12666 (Adobe Security Hotfix for Coldfusion (APSB13-10)).

Applying a patch is able to eliminate this problem. The bugfix is ready for download at adobe.com. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
