The PDF plugin in Google Chrome prior to 55.0.2883.75 for Mac, Windows and Linux, and 55.0.2883.84 for Android incorrectly followed redirects, which allowed a remote attacker to bypass the Same Origin Policy via a crafted HTML page.

The bug was discovered 12/01/2016. The weakness was presented 01/19/2017 by Abdulrahman Alqabandi (xisigr) with Qihoo 360 (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at securityfocus.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2016-5206 since 05/31/2016. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation.
