CVE-2026-100360 in SuiteCRMinfo

Summary

by MITRE • 11/05/2026

SuiteCRM is an open-source, enterprise-ready Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software application. Prior to 7.15.2 and 8.10.2, V8 API relationship write paths do not consistently enforce object-level edit and view authorization on both related records. In the verified Account-to-Contact case, an authenticated user can create a relationship while unable to edit the Account and can delete relationship links to a hidden Contact that cannot be viewed directly. This issue is fixed in versions 7.15.2 and 8.10.2.

SuiteCRM serves as a prominent open-source Customer Relationship Management platform designed for enterprise environments, facilitating the management of customer interactions and data. A significant security deficiency was identified within its V8 API implementation prior to versions 7.15.2 and 8.10.2. This vulnerability centers on inconsistent enforcement of object-level authorization controls specifically affecting relationship write operations. The core technical flaw lies in the application's failure to consistently validate whether an authenticated user possesses both edit permissions for a primary record and view or edit permissions for related records when establishing, modifying, or deleting relationships between entities.

In practical operational terms, this authorization bypass allows attackers with valid credentials to manipulate data associations that they should not be able to access. For instance, in the verified Account-to-Contact scenario, an authenticated user can create a relationship linking their account to another contact record even if they lack edit privileges for the primary Account entity. Furthermore, the vulnerability enables users to delete relationship links pointing to Contact records that are hidden from them and which they cannot view directly through standard interface interactions. This discrepancy between intended access control policies and actual API behavior creates a pathway for unauthorized data association manipulation and potential information disclosure or integrity compromise depending on subsequent actions taken with those relationships.

The impact of this vulnerability extends beyond simple privilege escalation, as it undermines the fundamental principle of least privilege within multi-tenant CRM environments where strict data isolation is critical. Attackers can potentially infer the existence of hidden records by observing successful relationship creation or deletion operations, leading to information leakage regarding organizational structure and personnel associations. This behavior aligns with CWE Category 269 Improper Privilege Management and specifically reflects weaknesses in access control logic often categorized under CWE-862 Missing Authorization. In terms of adversary tactics, this vulnerability facilitates lateral movement within the application's data model by allowing unauthorized linkage to sensitive entities, which corresponds to ATT&CK technique T1078 Valid Accounts when combined with credential theft or initial compromise scenarios.

To mitigate these risks, organizations running SuiteCRM must immediately upgrade to version 7.15.2 or later for legacy branches and version 8.10.2 or later for current releases where the patch has been applied. The fix ensures that relationship write paths strictly enforce object-level edit and view authorization checks on both primary and related records before allowing any modifications. Administrators should also review their existing user roles and permission sets to ensure they align with organizational security policies, particularly regarding cross-entity access controls. Regular auditing of API usage logs can help detect attempts to exploit this vulnerability prior to patching, providing visibility into unauthorized relationship manipulation activities that may indicate ongoing exploitation efforts by malicious actors targeting the CRM infrastructure.
