CVE-2026-105438 in O2OAinfo

Summary

by MITRE • 10/06/2026

A flaw has been found in O2OA up to 10.0.1-ce. This affects the function ActionUploadExcelWithUrl of the file /x_general_assemble_control/jaxrs/excel/upload/with/url of the component General Module. Executing a manipulation of the argument fileUrl can lead to server-side request forgery. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploit has been published and may be used. The project was informed of the problem early through an issue report but has not responded yet.

Analysis

by VulDB Data Team • 10/06/2026

The vulnerability identified in O2OA versions up to 10.0.1-ce represents a critical server-side request forgery flaw located within the General Module component, specifically affecting the ActionUploadExcelWithUrl function accessible via the /x_general_assemble_control/jaxrs/excel/upload/with/url endpoint. This architectural weakness stems from an insufficient validation of user-supplied input in the fileUrl argument. When this parameter is processed by the application server, it fails to adequately restrict or sanitize external URLs before initiating HTTP requests on behalf of the backend system. Consequently, an attacker can manipulate this argument to direct the vulnerable server to fetch resources from arbitrary internal or external destinations, effectively turning the O2OA instance into a proxy for malicious network activity.

From a technical perspective, this flaw aligns with CWE-918, which defines Server-Side Request Forgery as a vulnerability where an attacker causes a web application to make requests to unintended locations. The operational impact of such a vulnerability is severe because it allows remote attackers to bypass access controls and interact with internal services that are not directly exposed to the public internet. By crafting specific payloads for the fileUrl parameter, an adversary can probe internal network segments, exfiltrate sensitive data from backend databases or configuration files, or even pivot further into the organization's infrastructure by targeting other vulnerable systems within the same trust boundary. The fact that exploit code has been published significantly lowers the barrier to entry for attackers, increasing the likelihood of active exploitation in the wild against unpatched instances.

This vulnerability is also closely associated with MITRE ATT&CK technique T1598, specifically Phishing for Information from Internal Sources or Probing Internal Network Services, as it enables an attacker to leverage a trusted application server to scan and interact with internal assets. The remote nature of the attack means that no prior authentication or local access is required to initiate the initial probe, although successful exploitation may depend on whether specific administrative privileges are needed for certain downstream actions like file uploads. Given that the project has been informed but has not yet issued a patch, organizations running affected versions face immediate risk. Mitigation strategies should include implementing strict input validation and allowlisting of permitted URL schemes and domains at the application layer if possible. Additionally, deploying web application firewalls with rules capable of detecting SSRF patterns can provide an additional layer of defense while waiting for an official vendor update to upgrade O2OA beyond version 10.0.1-ce.
