Incorrect MIME type of XSS-Protection reports in Blink in Google Chrome prior to 58.0.3029.81 for Linux, Windows, and Mac, and 58.0.3029.83 for Android, allowed a remote attacker to circumvent Cross-Origin Resource Sharing checks via a crafted HTML page.
The bug was discovered 01/02/2017. The weakness was released 04/19/2017 by Wadih Matar with Zero Day Initiative as Stable Channel Update for Desktop, April 2017 as confirmed news (Website). The advisory is available at chromereleases.googleblog.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2017-5069 since 01/02/2017. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available. The structure of the vulnerability defines a possible price range of USD $5k-$25k at the moment (estimation calculated on 09/17/2020). It is expected to see the exploit prices for this product increasing in the near future.
