Lenovo System Update (formerly ThinkVantage System Update) before 5.07.0019 allows local users to gain privileges by navigating to (1) "Click here to learn more" or (2) "View privacy policy" within the Tvsukernel.exe GUI application in the context of a temporary administrator account, aka a "local privilege escalation vulnerability."

The bug was discovered 11/19/2015. The weakness was shared 04/24/2017 (Website). The advisory is available at support.lenovo.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2015-8110 since 11/11/2015. Local access is required to approach this attack. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit.
