CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

Detailsinfo

A vulnerability was found in Linux Kernel (Operating System) (the affected version is unknown) and classified as problematic. Affected by this issue is an unknown code of the file drivers/hid/hid-logitech-dj.c of the component logitec-dj HID Driver. The manipulation of the argument CONFIG_HID_LOGITECH_DJ with an unknown input leads to a memory corruption vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-119. The product performs operations on a memory buffer, but it can read from or write to a memory location that is outside of the intended boundary of the buffer. Impacted is confidentiality. CVE summarizes:

drivers/hid/hid-logitech-dj.c in the Human Interface Device (HID) subsystem in the Linux kernel through 3.11, when CONFIG_HID_LOGITECH_DJ is enabled, allows physically proximate attackers to cause a denial of service (NULL pointer dereference and OOPS) or obtain sensitive information from kernel memory via a crafted device.

The weakness was disclosed 08/28/2013 by Kees Cook with Google Inc. as Linux HID security flaws as not defined mailinglist post (oss-sec). The advisory is shared for download at seclists.org. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2013-2895 since 04/11/2013. The attack needs to be approached locally. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available.

The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 69910 (Fedora 18 : kernel-3.10.11-100.fc18 (2013-16336)), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. It is assigned to the family Fedora Local Security Checks. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 195858 (Ubuntu Security Notification for Linux-lts-quantal Vulnerabilities (USN-2019-1)).

Applying the patch PATCH 09/14 is able to eliminate this problem. The bugfix is ready for download at marc.info. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability.

The vulnerability is also documented in the databases at Tenable (69910), SecurityFocus (BID 62045†), OSVDB (96772†) and Vulnerability Center (SBV-41288†). The entries VDB-10106, VDB-10107, VDB-10108 and VDB-10109 are pretty similar. If you want to get best quality of vulnerability data, you may have to visit VulDB.
