A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, was found in Apple tvOS up to 10.2.0 (Digital Media Player). Affected is an unknown code block of the component WebKit. The bug was discovered 05/10/2017. The weakness was released 05/15/2017 by Kai Kang (lokihardt) with Google Project Zero as HT207801 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared for download at support.apple.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2017-2549 since 12/01/2016. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 371242 (Apple Safari 10.1.1 Not Installed (APPLE-SA-2017-05-15-7)).
Upgrading to version 10.2.1 eliminates this vulnerability. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
