A vulnerability was found in Microsoft Office 2003/2007 (Office Suite Software). It has been classified as very critical. This affects an unknown code block of the component Word File Handler. Microsoft Office 2003 SP3 and 2007 SP3, Word 2003 SP3 and 2007 SP3, Office Compatibility Pack SP3, and Word Viewer allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service (memory corruption) via a crafted Office document, aka "Word Memory Corruption Vulnerability."
The issue has been introduced in 11/17/2003. The weakness was shared 09/10/2013 by Mateusz Jurczyk, Ben Hawkes and Ivan Fratric with Google Security Team as MS13-072 as confirmed bulletin (Technet). It is possible to read the advisory at technet.microsoft.com. The vendor cooperated in the coordination of the public release. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2013-3851 since 06/03/2013. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation.
