A vulnerability has been found in Microsoft Internet Explorer 9/10 (Web Browser) and classified as critical. Affected by this vulnerability is the function CSpliceTreeEngine::InsertSplice. Use-after-free vulnerability in Microsoft Internet Explorer 9 and 10 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service (memory corruption) via a crafted CSpliceTreeEngine::InsertSplice object in an HTML document, aka "Internet Explorer Memory Corruption Vulnerability," a different vulnerability than CVE-2013-3143 and CVE-2013-3161.
The weakness was shared 09/05/2013 by Amol Naik with Zero Day Initiative as MS13-055 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared at technet.microsoft.com. The vendor cooperated in the coordination of the public release. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2013-3846 since 06/03/2013. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details and also a public exploit are known.
