Details
A vulnerability, which was classified as very critical, was found in Apple iOS up to 6.1.4 (Smartphone Operating System). Affected is some unknown functionality of the component WebKit. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a memory corruption vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-119. The product performs operations on a memory buffer, but it can read from or write to a memory location that is outside of the intended boundary of the buffer. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
WebKit, as used in Apple iTunes before 11.0.3, allows man-in-the-middle attackers to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service (memory corruption and application crash) via vectors related to iTunes Store browsing, a different vulnerability than other WebKit CVEs listed in APPLE-SA-2013-05-16-1.
The weakness was disclosed 09/18/2013 by pa_kt with TippingPoint's Zero Day Initiative as APPLE-SA-2013-09-18-2 iOS 7 as confirmed mailinglist post (Website) via Zero Day Initiative (ZDI). The advisory is available at prod.lists.apple.com. The mailinglist post contains:
