A vulnerability has been found in Apple iOS up to 6.1.4 (Smartphone Operating System) and classified as very critical. Affected by this vulnerability is an unknown part of the component WebKit. WebKit, as used in Apple iTunes before 11.0.3, allows man-in-the-middle attackers to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service (memory corruption and application crash) via vectors related to iTunes Store browsing, a different vulnerability than other WebKit CVEs listed in APPLE-SA-2013-05-16-1.

Multiple memory corruption issues existed in WebKit. These issues were addressed through improved memory handling.This vulnerability is known as CVE-2013-1000 since 01/10/2013. The exploitation appears to be difficult. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not publicly available. The pricing for an exploit might be around USD $5k-$25k at the moment (estimation calculated on 05/25/2021). It is expected to see the exploit prices for this product increasing in the near future.
The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 70257 (Apple TV < 6.0 Multiple Vulnerabilities), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. It is assigned to the family Misc.. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 121230 (Apple Safari 6.0.5 Not Installed (APPLE-SA-2013-06-04-2)).
