A vulnerability classified as problematic was found in ImageMagick up to 6.x (Image Processing Software). Affected by this vulnerability is the function AcquireVirtualMemory. Memory leak in AcquireVirtualMemory in ImageMagick before 7 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (memory consumption) via unspecified vectors.
The bug was discovered 09/29/2016. The weakness was released 07/25/2017 by Bastien Roucaries (oss-sec). It is possible to read the advisory at openwall.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2016-7539 since 09/09/2016. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication.
