In ImageMagick before 6.9.7-6 and 7.x before 7.0.4-6, the ReadMATImage function in coders/mat.c uses uninitialized data, which might allow remote attackers to obtain sensitive information from process memory.
The bug was discovered 01/26/2017. The weakness was shared 08/23/2017 (Website). The advisory is shared at bugs.debian.org. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2017-13143 since 08/23/2017. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely.
