A vulnerability was found in ImageMagick 7.0.6-6 (Image Processing Software) and classified as problematic. This issue affects the function WritePixelCachePixels. The WritePixelCachePixels function in ImageMagick 7.0.6-6 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (CPU consumption) via a crafted file.
The bug was discovered 08/08/2017. The weakness was disclosed 08/29/2017 (GitHub Repository). The advisory is shared at github.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2017-12875 since 08/15/2017. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available.
