Console in Apple Mac OS X before 10.9 allows user-assisted remote attackers to execute arbitrary applications by triggering a log entry with a crafted attached URL.

This update modified the behavior of Console when clicking on a log entry with an attached URL. Rather than opening the URL, Console will now preview the URL with Quick Look.The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2013-5168 since 08/15/2013. An attack has to be approached locally. A simple authentication is required for exploitation. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available.
