CoreGraphics in Apple Mac OS X before 10.9, when display-sleep mode is used, does not ensure that screen locking blocks the visibility of all windows, which allows physically proximate attackers to obtain sensitive information by reading the screen.

A logic issue existed in CoreGraphics's handling of display sleep mode, resulting in data corruption that could result in windows being visible over the lock screen. The issue is addressed through improved handling of display sleep.This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2013-5169 since 08/15/2013. Local access is required to approach this attack. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available. This vulnerability is assigned to T1068 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.
