The SVG implementation in Blink, as used in Google Chrome before 31.0.1650.48, allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (out-of-bounds read) by leveraging the use of tree order, rather than transitive dependency order, for layout.

The weakness was released 09/28/2013 as not defined blog post (Blogspot). The advisory is available at googlechromereleases.blogspot.ch. The public release was coordinated with the vendor. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2013-6623 since 11/05/2013. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available.

It is declared as proof-of-concept. As 0-day the estimated underground price was around $25k-$100k.
