A vulnerability was found in Quagga BGP Daemon up to 1.2.2 (Network Routing Software). It has been classified as critical. Affected is an unknown code of the component UPDATE Message Handler. The Quagga BGP daemon (bgpd) prior to version 1.2.3 can double-free memory when processing certain forms of UPDATE message, containing cluster-list and/or unknown attributes. A successful attack could cause a denial of service or potentially allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code.
The bug was discovered 02/15/2018. The weakness was released 02/19/2018 as confirmed advisory (CERT.org). The advisory is available at kb.cert.org.
