Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 through 11 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service (memory corruption) via a crafted web site, aka "Internet Explorer Memory Corruption Vulnerability," a different vulnerability than CVE-2013-5047.
The issue has been introduced in 03/22/2001. The weakness was released 12/10/2013 with Zero Day Initiative as MS13-097 as confirmed bulletin (Technet) via ZDI (Zero Day Initiative). It is possible to read the advisory at technet.microsoft.com. The public release was coordinated with Microsoft. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2013-5048 since 08/06/2013. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction.
