A vulnerability was found in ImageMagick 7.0.7-25 Q16 (Image Processing Software) and classified as critical. This issue affects the function WriteEPTImage of the file coders/ept.c. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a double free vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-415. WriteEPTImage in coders/ept.c in ImageMagick 7.0.7-25 Q16 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (MagickCore/memory.c double free and application crash) or possibly have unspecified other impact via a crafted file.
The bug was discovered 03/15/2018. The weakness was disclosed 03/20/2018 (GitHub Repository). It is possible to read the advisory at github.com.
