A vulnerability has been found in Google Chrome 24.0.1312.71 (Web Browser) and classified as problematic. This vulnerability affects the function PpapiHostMsg_PPBGraphics3D_CreateTransferBuffer/PpapiHostMsg_PPBVideoDecoder_Decode of the component IPC Layer. The weakness was disclosed 02/21/2013 by Chris Evans with Google Chrome Security Team as Issue 164958 as confirmed bug report (Website). The advisory is available at code.google.com. The public release has been coordinated in cooperation with the vendor. This vulnerability was named CVE-2013-0892 since 01/07/2013. The exploitation appears to be difficult. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit.

Upgrading to version 25.0.1364.97 eliminates this vulnerability. The upgrade is hosted for download at chrome.google.com. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability. The vulnerability will be addressed with the following lines of code:
