The weakness was disclosed 01/14/2014 with Oracle as Oracle Critical Patch Update Advisory - January 2014 as confirmed advisory (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at oracle.com. This vulnerability can be exploited via the mysql protocol. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2014-0420 since 12/12/2013. The attack can be launched remotely. Additional levels of successful authentication are required for exploitation. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not publicly available.
