The issue has been introduced in 10/29/2013. The weakness was presented 01/21/2014 by Mateusz Jurczyk and Gynvael Coldwind with Google Security Team as hevc: Use uint64 to check for tile dimensions as confirmed git commit (GIT Repository). It is possible to read the advisory at git.videolan.org. The public release was coordinated in cooperation with the project team. The exploitation appears to be difficult. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not publicly available.
