A vulnerability classified as problematic has been found in FFmpeg 2.1 (Multimedia Processing Software). This affects the function transquant_bypass4x4 of the file libavcodec/hevcdsp_template.c. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a security check vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-358. The weakness was published 01/21/2014 by Mateusz Jurczyk and Gynvael Coldwind with Google Security Team as hevc: clip pixels when transquant bypass is used as confirmed git commit (GIT Repository). The advisory is shared at git.videolan.org. The public release has been coordinated with the project team. The exploitability is told to be difficult. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely.
