A vulnerability classified as problematic has been found in GNOME glib 2.56.1. Affected is the function g_markup_parse_context_end_parse of the file gmarkup.c. In GNOME GLib 2.56.1, g_markup_parse_context_end_parse() in gmarkup.c has a NULL pointer dereference.
The bug was discovered 04/11/2018. The weakness was disclosed 09/04/2018 by Venustech with Adlab of Venustech (Website). The advisory is shared for download at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2018-16428 since 09/03/2018. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available.
