The test connection functionality in the NetAudit section of Opsview Monitor before 5.3.1 and 5.4.x before 5.4.2 is vulnerable to command injection due to improper sanitization of the rancid_password parameter.
The bug was discovered 09/04/2018. The weakness was released 09/05/2018 as not defined mailinglist post (Full-Disclosure). The advisory is shared for download at seclists.org. This vulnerability was named CVE-2018-16144 since 08/29/2018. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely.
