A vulnerability was found in Nagios up to 4.4.1 (Log Management Software). It has been declared as problematic. Affected by this vulnerability is the function qh_core of the component Unix Socket Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a null pointer dereference vulnerability. A NULL pointer dereference occurs when the application dereferences a pointer that it expects to be valid, but is NULL, typically causing a crash or exit. qh_core in Nagios Core 4.4.1 and earlier is prone to a NULL pointer dereference vulnerability, which allows attackers to cause a local denial-of-service condition by sending a crafted payload to the listening UNIX socket.
