In FreeBSD before 11.2-RELEASE, a stack guard-page is available but is disabled by default. This results in the possibility a poorly written process could be cause a stack overflow.
The bug was discovered 06/19/2017. The weakness was presented 09/12/2018 with Qualys (Website). The advisory is shared for download at qualys.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2017-1083 since 11/29/2016. The exploitation appears to be difficult. The attack can be initiated remotely.
