In task_get_unused_fd_flags of binder.c, there is a possible memory corruption due to a use after free. This could lead to local escalation of privilege with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation. The bug was discovered 08/06/2018. The weakness was released 11/06/2018 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at securitytracker.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2018-9465 since 04/05/2018. The attack needs to be approached locally. The requirement for exploitation is a authentication. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available.
The vulnerability was handled as a non-public zero-day exploit for at least 92 days. During that time the estimated underground price was around $5k-$25k.
