An issue was discovered in Roche Accu-Chek Inform II Base Unit / Base Unit Hub before 03.01.04 and CoaguChek / cobas h232 Handheld Base Unit before 03.01.04. Weak access credentials may enable attackers in the adjacent network to gain unauthorized service access via a service interface.
The bug was discovered 11/06/2018. The weakness was released 11/20/2018 by Niv Yehezkel with Medigate as ICSMA-18-310-01 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is available at ics-cert.us-cert.gov. The public release was coordinated with the vendor. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2018-18562 since 10/22/2018. The attack needs to be initiated within the local network. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available.
