FreeRDP prior to version 2.0.0-rc4 contains an Out-Of-Bounds Write of up to 4 bytes in function nsc_rle_decode() that results in a memory corruption and possibly even a remote code execution.

The bug was discovered 02/05/2019. The weakness was disclosed 11/29/2018 (GitHub Repository). The advisory is shared for download at github.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2018-8788 since 03/19/2018. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to launch the attack remotely.
