A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, was found in LibRaw up to 0.18.8 (Image Processing Software). This affects the function nikon_coolscan_load_raw of the file internal/dcraw_common.cpp. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a null pointer dereference vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-476. A NULL pointer dereference occurs when the application dereferences a pointer that it expects to be valid, but is NULL, typically causing a crash or exit. An error within the "nikon_coolscan_load_raw()" function (internal/dcraw_common.cpp) in LibRaw versions prior to 0.18.9 can be exploited to trigger a NULL pointer dereference.
