A vulnerability was found in LibRaw up to 0.18.8 (Image Processing Software). It has been declared as critical. An error within the "samsung_load_raw()" function (internal/dcraw_common.cpp) in LibRaw versions prior to 0.18.9 can be exploited to cause an out-of-bounds read memory access and subsequently cause a crash.
The bug was discovered 05/30/2018. The weakness was released 12/07/2018 (Website). The advisory is available at usn.ubuntu.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2018-5807 since 01/19/2018.
