A vulnerability was found in PHP up to 7.1.26/7.2.15/7.3.2 (Programming Language Software). It has been rated as critical. Affected by this issue is the function exif_process_SOFn of the component EXIF. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a memory corruption vulnerability. An issue was discovered in the EXIF component in PHP before 7.1.27, 7.2.x before 7.2.16, and 7.3.x before 7.3.3. There is an Invalid Read in exif_process_SOFn.
The bug was discovered 03/12/2019. The weakness was shared 03/09/2019 (Website). The advisory is available at debian.org. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2019-9640 since 03/08/2019.
