A vulnerability was found in Joomla CMS up to 3.9.3 (Content Management System). It has been declared as problematic. An issue was discovered in Joomla! before 3.9.4. The item_title layout in edit views lacks escaping, leading to XSS.
The bug was discovered 03/03/2019. The weakness was published 03/12/2019 (Website). The advisory is shared at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2019-9711 since 03/11/2019. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1059.007 for this issue.
