Internet Explorer 4.x and 5.x does not properly verify the domain of a frame within a browser window, which allows a remote attacker to read client files via the frame, aka the "Frame Domain Verification" vulnerability.

The issue has been introduced in 04/01/1997. The weakness was presented 05/17/2000 by Andrew with Microsoft as MS00-033 as confirmed bulletin (Technet). The advisory is shared for download at microsoft.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2000-0465. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. Technical details and also a public exploit are known. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1068.
