A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, was found in Alt-N MDaemon 3.1.1 (Mail Server Software). This affects an unknown code of the component Worldclient. Heap overflow in Worldclient in Mdaemon 3.1.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service and possibly execute arbitrary commands via a long URL.
The weakness was released 12/11/2000 with VIGILANTe (Website). The advisory is shared at xforce.iss.net. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2000-1020. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation.
